What an amazing Woman

Trying to portray through words how I feel about my Grandmother is very hard. Nothing seems strong enough to honor the amazing woman that she was. She was a FIERCE woman who lived by Faith and lived for Family.

When she spoke you listened. On the hand she never told me no when we wanted her to play a game of cards or Rummikub. And as my kids pointed out she never told them no when they wanted candy despite what mom said.

She made the most amazing meals and always let me help when I asked. She thought it was funny how frustrated I got because the recipe was in her head and she didn't measure anything, and I didn't understand how I was supposed to learn how to cook/bake like her. She told me to keep watching I would figure it out. Nope still can't cook her meatloaf.

We were blessed to be able to live with her for a couple of years, and live right next door after that. I know that I got to experience a different part of her during those times. She would holler at us to get moving in the morning if she thought we were going to be late for the bus. She brought things to me at school that I forgot on more then one occasion. She took me to get my license when I turned 16.

She was quick witted and sarcastic through her entire life. The nurse at the nursing home told me yesterday morning that she would sit by the nurse's station and hang out. Every once in a while she would drop a one liner that the nurse's would just shake their heads at. I am so thankful that she remained strong minded.

I know that Grandma was ready to go be with Jesus. She was ready to be reunited with Grandpa. Grandma never did anything Grandma didn't want to do and Grandma was ready to go. She got to spend her last day surrounded by family.

Grandma, thank you for being such an amazing example to us all. Love you.
