Obituary for Colton John Faessler

Colton John Faessler
COLTON JOHN FAESSLER

Colton John Faessler was born January 9, 2009 to John and Kelly (Sauder) Faessler in Denver, CO. He became a child of God in baptism April 23, 2009. He was granted his angel wings on August 9, 2017, following a lifelong illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Colton touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life. Colton’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.
Although Colton's illness limited his abilities, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He loved sitting in his bean bag, cuddling with his favorite froggy blanket, Sponge Bob was his favorite cartoon character, pulling his toes up around his ears. Colton loved holding hands and having his head rubbed. With Colton's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile, he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents.
We are so thankful Colton's sisters, Paige and Lennon and brother Myles, met their brother so they can hold dear the memory of Colton's gentle spirit.
Colton leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Colton's love extends to wonderful nurses, Kim, Jess and Pam. There is a special place in our hearts for every doctor that has been a part of our journey with Colton. Because of their continual dedication, love and support, Colton was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. He will be dearly
missed by all his special caregivers at Children’s Hospital in Aurora Colorado. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Colton with love and dignity in his life and also in his death.
Colton is survived by his loving parents, John and Kelly Faessler, sisters Paige and Lennon; brother Myles, grandparents, Rodger and Betty Sauder, Randy and Terri Faessler all of Sidney NE.; great grandparents Joe and Charlene Sauder of Chappell, NE, Don and Gloria Nelson of Yuma, AZ and Dean and Shirleen Redinger of Fairfield, NE, uncle, Chris Sauder of Sidney; aunts, Brigette (Josh) Engel of Lincoln, Monica (Matt) Monhieser, Stacie Faessler and Jaime Smircich all of Sidney and numerous cousins.
Colton was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Betty Redinger, John Jr. and Mary Jane Faessler and cousin Emma Redinger.
Memorial services for Colton will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 15th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastors Leon “Bud” Gillespie and Dave Hall officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation has been held.
