HARRY N. DIDIER

Harry N. Didier, age 89 of Sidney, NE and former Gering resident, passed away at the Sidney Regional Medical Center, Thursday, December 29, 2016.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 3rd with Rosary Services at 12:30 prior to Mass. Both services will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Jim Heithoff officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. A memorial is being established. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday to sign Harry’s register book and drop off condolences for the family. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Harry’s care and funeral arrangements.
Harry Nicholas Didier, sixth and last child of Ferdinand and Liddie (Cerny) Didier, was born on September 18, 1927 at Clarks, NE. He graduated from Clarks High School in 1945. Harry joined the United States Marine Corps in November of 1945. He received his Honorable Discharge in November of 1947. On July 27, 1948, Harry was united in marriage to Alice Margaret Schaf in Sidney. Six children were born to this union: Joseph, Maria, Daniel, Anne, David and Paul. Harry will be well remembered as an excellent mechanic with a gift to repair just about any vehicle problem that would come up.
Survivors include his wife: Alice; children: Daniel, Anne, David and Paul; (11) grandchildren; (12) great-grandchildren; (2) great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, son: Joseph and daughter: Maria.
