Christian Fredrick Olsen, son of Fredrick and Margaret (Runge) Olsen, was born October 3, 1948, in Sidney, NE. Chris spent his youth on his family farm in Potter, NE, where he graduated from Potter High School in 1967. After graduation, he continued his education at McCook Community College where he played football.

On February 2, 1974, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Ortiz in Albuquerque, NM. To this union, three children were born: Natalie Marie, Gabriel Christian, and Chase Christopher. After spending time in northeastern Colorado, the family settled in Sidney in the early 1980’s, where Chris remained until his death. Chris was a lover of sports, and he especially enjoyed following his children and grandchildren’s athletic activities. “Pamps”, as he was known to his family, was a dedicated fan of both the Sidney Red Raiders and the Chadron State Eagles. He enjoyed a long career in the trucking industry, working for both Adams Industries Trucking and Tailchain Services. Chris also enjoyed spending time working in his yard, taking great pride in his lawn and garden. In the last years of his life, he was delighted to return to the family farm in Potter to work alongside his brother.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; three children: Natalie Jobman of Sidney, Gabriel and wife Laura Leah Olsen of Loveland, CO, and Chase and wife April Olsen of Casper, WY; one brother: Dain (Ruth) Olsen of Potter; two sisters: Kathy (Rick) Nienhuser of Greeley, CO, and Patty Kohtala of Cheyenne, WY. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Cayden and Cooper Jobman of Sidney and Trey and Olivia Olsen of Loveland, CO, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jill Ortega.
