VERA A. VAN VLEET

Vera A. Van Vleet, age 77 of Sidney, NE passed away at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO, Monday, September 22, 2014.
Cremation has been held. No formal services are planned. Private family inurnment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Vera’s name to the donor’s choice.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel to sign a register book and drop off condolences for the family.

Vera Ann Van Vleet, the daughter of Francis Raymond and Vera Marie (Larsen) Stoltz, was born on January 25, 1937 at Trojan, SD. She attended St. Mary’s School in Zell, SD and graduated from Redfield High School in Redfield, SD. On August 20, 1955, Vera was united in marriage to Robert Dale Van Vleet at Deadwood, SD.
Vera was an avid reader, loved her roses, enjoyed playing cards and playing games with her grandchildren and enjoyed a good jigsaw puzzle. Vera was a successful business owner and was proud to work with her family and considered many of her employees as family. She was a generous and kind woman who always worked under the radar to help others in need.
Survivors include her husband Robert D. Van Vleet of Sidney; daughter: Sam; son: Robert G. Van Vleet and wife Carolyn of Sidney; son: Danny Van Vleet and wife Lori of Gurley, NE; daughter: Kelly Carey of Sidney and daughter: Stacy Beeken and husband Keven of Sidney; (7) grandchildren: Nikki, Frances Beeken, Emma Beeken, Robbie Van Vleet, Chuck Van Vleet, Benjamin Carey, Kaytlin Carey all of Sidney; (1) great-grandchild and (3) step-grandchildren: Clint, Rohanna and Drayke of Canada; a brother: Leo Stoltz and wife Linda of Manasses, VA and numerous extended family members and friends.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law: Gordon Carey.
