DELBERT E. NAMUTH

Delbert E. Namuth, age 70 of Lodgepole, NE passed away at his home Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 11th in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lodgepole with Pastor Sarah Cordray officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1-7:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made in Delbert’s name to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Pleasant View Cemetery or the donor’s choice.

Delbert E. Namuth, the son of Ernest and Leota (Howerter) Namuth was born on January 20, 1943 in Sidney, NE. He graduated from Lodgepole High School in 1960. On September 30, 1961, Delbert was united in marriage to Barbara Jurgens at Lodgepole. Delbert started working with the Deuel County A.S.C.S. Office in 1961 and moved to Oshkosh, NE in 1964 and served as Manager of the Garden County A.S.C.S. Office for the next sixteen years. He then took the position as the Assistant Manager of the Oshkosh Feed Lot for the next fourteen years and the worked for the Phillips Feedlot until 1998. Delbert moved to North Platte, NE where he finished his career in the cattle industry at Lincoln County Feeders near Stapleton, NE. In 2004 they relocated to Lodgepole and remained there until the time of his death.
Delbert was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and served as a Board Member and had served on the Lodgepole Village Board. He is a former member and Past President of the Oshkosh Jaycees, member and Past President of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce and the Oshkosh Grade School Board. Delbert also served on the Oshkosh Beautification Committee, was Co-founder of the North Platte Valley Sportsman’s Club, member of the Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid goose hunter and fisherman. Delbert was very involved with his grandsons’ sports and activities and enjoyed his special time with his great-granddaughter. He was very well known by his friends and customers at the Panther Den. His sense of humor, daily debating antics and ability to make everyone smile and laugh will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-three years, Barbara of Lodgepole; (1) son: Todd Namuth and wife Stacy of Lake McConaughy, NE; (1) daughter: Trisha Johnson of Lodgepole; (3) grandsons: Jordan Namuth and wife Brook of Sidney, Brandon Namuth of Seward, NE and Justin Johnson of Lodgepole; (1) great-granddaughter: Taryn Namuth of Sidney; brother-in-law: Roland Jurgens and wife Carmela of Santa Barbara, CA and numerous extended family members and friends.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and (1) sister: Brenda Namuth.
