Georgia L. “Tootie” (White) Davis was born on August 24, 1938, in Hominy, OK. At a very young age her family moved to Silverton, CO where her father worked in the gold mines and mills around the Silverton area. After graduating high school Georgia joined her family, who had moved the year before, in LaSal, UT. While there she met Robert Davis who had also grown up in Silverton and whose family had also moved to LaSal to work for the uranium mines. Robert and Georgia were united in marriage on June 20, 1959 in Moab, Utah. To this union three boys were born, Robert, Charles, and Donald.
In 1961 Robert accepted a teaching position at Lodgepole Public Schools and he, Georgia and baby Robert relocated to Lodgepole “for a few years”. As the family grew with the addition of Charles and Donald, Lodgepole became home and soon Georgia began working at the Coffee Cup Café as a cook. She also worked at the library in Lodgepole and cooked at the Lodgepole Public Schools. Later she owned the Snack Shop for several years. After selling the Snack Shop she began working for McDonald’s in Sidney. Often saying she came with the building, she worked at the McDonald’s from the day it opened until she retired.
In later years she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially grandchildren.
Georgia is survived by her (3) sons; Robert Davis and wife Freda of Scottsbluff, Charles Davis of Lodgepole and Donald Davis and wife Lucyna of Sidney; (3) brothers; Robert Caine and wife Charlene of Farmington, NM, Benjamin White and wife Jillynn of Lehi, UT and Paul “Nene” White and wife Kim of St. George, UT, (1) brother-in-law; Dennis Davis of San Diego, CA; (3) grandchildren Jordan Worley and husband Adam of Ogallala, Ian and Ryan Davis of Sidney, and (5) great-grandcildren; Gavin, Peyton and Alexis Worley of Ogallala, and Emmersynne-Joy and Ellyeaunnah-Grace Davis of Scottsbluff.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents Lila Florence (Edwards) White and Clyde Leon (Stub) White, Step-mother Ethel Klausner, her husband Robert Davis, one brother Charles “Sonny” White, one sister Pauline “Toad” Deacon and granddaughter Tabitha Davis.
