Beverly C. Peters, age 81 of Chappell, NE passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. MST, Tuesday, May 22nd in the Chappell United Methodist Church with Rev. David Abbott officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, NE at 3:00 P.M. CST on Tuesday. Cremation has been held. Memorial contributions may be made in Bev’s name to the Chappell Public Library or the donor’s choice. Beverly Chloe Peters, the daughter of Arthur Jennings and Mary Bernice (Gyger) Brestel, was born on February 24, 1937 in Chappell. She attended the Chappell Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1955. While in school, Bev participated in Band, Chorus, Cheerleading, was the Drum Major for the Band and played the accordion during High School. Bev lived in Northglenn, CO from 1961-1984. She was the Office Manager at Broomfield Family Practice from 1974-1982.
On February 10, 1984, Bev was united in marriage to Clinton L. Peters at Brighton, CO. They lived in Thornton, CO from 1993-2003. Bev was the accompanist for the High School Music Department from 1985-1993, was Community Chorus Accompanist from 1985-1993 and worked in the Adams County District Attorney’s Office as a Legal Secretary from 1999-2003 and received the Employee of the Month in January of 2000. Bev served as Secretary to the Superintendent and Treasurer for the Chappell Public Schools and was a member of the Chappell United Methodist Church for nearly fifty years.
Survivors include her husband: Clinton of Chappell; her children: Patricia Shulman and husband David of Sparks, NV, Michael I. Krause of Chattanooga, TN and Clinton Lee Peters, Jr. of Pueblo, CO; brother: Max C. Brestel of Fayetteville, AR; sister: Lillace Brott of Chappell; grandchildren: Andrew, Ashleigh, Mireya and Sabina; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and many friends.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Kent Brestel and Ross Brestel and brother-in-law: Marvin Brott.
