DANIEL A. VIRGIL SR.

Daniel A. Virgil Sr., age 82 of Sidney, NE passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the SRMC Extended Care in Sidney.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 18th in the Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp with Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. Private family inurnment will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has been held. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday, May 17th to sign Daniel’s register book and drop off condolences for the family. Daniel Arthur Virgil Sr., husband of Dolores Amador Virgil was born January 2, 1936 to Louis M. Virgil and Maria Antonia Sandoval Virgil. Daniel went to school in Sterling, Colorado until his father went to work at the Sioux Army Depot in Sidney, Nebraska. He worked as a mechanic for Joe Gibson in a Ford dealership and he also worked at Kokjer Motors Chevrolet Dealership. Daniel was a mechanic for 30 years and loved cars and to work on them. Daniel is survived by his wife, Dolores Amador Virgil, his only son Daniel Anthony Virgil Jr. and his 4 daughters Sunshine Campos, Denise Kray, Jacqueline Warren, and Jeanette Palmore, all of Sidney. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his five brothers and two sisters. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Alfred and Richard Virgil, and his sisters Mary Pantoja and Linda Rita Virgil, an infant daughter, Denise, grandchildren, Gabrielle Palmore and Victor Wooley and great-great-grandson, Daniel Valdez.
