Coral Wallace
Coral Wallace, age 87 of Chappell, NE passed away at Sidney Regional Medical Center in Sidney, January 19, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 3rd in The Assembly of God Church in Chappell with Pastor Rich Graeff officiating. Cremation has been held. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel to sign Coral’s register book and leave condolences for the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Coral’s name to the Dorwart Cancer Care Center or in care of the family. Coral Ann “Ann” Wallace, the daughter of Samuel Amos and Pearl May (Upliner) Jones, was born on April 15, 1930 at Heart Strong (now Yuma), CO. She was raised in Yuma and attended the Yuma Schools. On January 18, 1948, Coral was united in marriage to Robert Warnick at Yuma. She and Robert lived in Kansas for a few years where Coral owned a beauty shop before moving to Sidney. This union was blessed with seven children. Following Robert’s passing, Coral moved her family to Scottsbluff where she owned a café. She met and married Gerald Edward Blanton in 1968. This union of ten years was blessed with three children. Following a divorce, Coral moved to Chappell where she raised her three youngest children and lived for thirty-seven years. While in Chappell she married Calven Wallace. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Coral was a member of the Assembly of God Churches in Scottsbluff and Chappell. She loved to crochet, work in her flower gardens and fishing with her children. Coral was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.
Survivors include her children: James Warnick of Gering, NE, Charlie Warnick and wife Toni of Iliff, CO, Joseph Warnick of Overland Park, KS, John Jones of Frankfurt, Germany, Esther Fraker of Sidney, Michelle Blanton of Chappell, Delina Blanton of Sidney and Anna Cochren and husband Kyle of Sidney; step-son: Shawn Blanton of Sterling, CO; step-daughter: Heather of Nevada; (23) grandchildren; (42) great-grandchildren and (6) great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Coral was preceded in death by her parents: Sam and Pearl Jones; (2) brothers: Charlie and James Jones; (1) sister: Alice Korf; (2) sons: Lynn Warnick and Steven Warnick; (2) grandsons: Charlie Warnick Jr and Vincent Martinez and (2) husbands: Robert Warnick and Edward Blanton.
