Douglas M. Nicholson

Douglas Nicholson, age 79 of Littleton, CO and former resident of Chappell, NE passed away at Rocky Mountain Assisted Living in Highlands Ranch, CO, Thursday, December 21, 2017.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in the Chappell Cemetery. Douglas Melvin Nicholson, the son of John Thomas and Marie (Dillin) Nicholson, was born on January 26, 1938 at Sutherland, NE. He spent ten years serving in the United States Marines. On October 6, 1964, Doug was united in marriage to Karen K. Bondegard at Englewood, CO. Doug retired following twenty-five years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Survivors on the Nicholson side of the family include a sister: Marcylene (Nicholson) Boyles of Benton, KY; sister-in-law: Kay (Holeman) Nicholson of Dickinson, ND and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Bondegard survivors include Doug’s in–laws, Burt Bondegard, Bart Bondegard and Lorie Adkins, Roxie and Ron Bartling, Pat and Dick Luckey, Richard Misegadis, Jimmie and Sandy Bondegard Charles and Cindy Bondegard and Nancy and Preston Richards. Doug also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and many extended family members.
Doug was preceded in death by his wife Karen (Bondegard) Nicholson, his parents, (3) sisters: Jessie Eckhoff, Hazel Sneith and Mary Ann Nicholson, (3) brothers: Delbert, John Jr. and Kenneth Nicholson and sisters-in-law Debbie Misegadis and Darlene Bondegard.
