HELEN (ROTHENBERGER) FRANKLIN
1940-2017


Helen (Rothenberger) Franklin, 77 of Sidney went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday October 27th at the Christian Life Center in Sidney with Pastor Pete Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to the Christian Life Center. Friends may stop at Gehrig-Stitt Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 1-7:00 PM, with family present 5:30-7:00. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Services is in charge of Helen’s care and funeral arrangements.
Helen was born April 8th, 1940 to George and Molly (Kling) Rothenberger in Scottsbluff where she grew up and went to school. On November 8th, 1958, she married the love of her life Walter Franklin in Fort Carson, CO. After Walter was honorably discharged from the Armed Services they moved to the family farm in Bridgeport NE, where they raised their two daughters and son. After they retired from farming they moved to Sidney NE and spent the remaining years enjoying family. Helen’s family was the light of her life. She loved to embroider, fish, play cribbage, attend carnivals, play claw machines and LOVED Monday night WWE Wrestling.
She was a member of the Christian Life Center Church in Sidney and looked forward to nursing home services so she could minster to the elderly. She was a past member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Bridgeport.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Ann (Larry) Weigel of Kimball; son, Lucky (Colleen) Franklin of Kimball; daughter, Freda (Bob) Davis of Sidney; six granddaughters, Teresa (Aaron) Deboodt, Jordan (Adam) Worley, Sarah (Nathan) Klussman, Angell Franklin, Ellyeaunnah-Grace and Emmersynne-Joy Davis; four grandsons, Andrew, Nathan, Casey and Devon Franklin; nine great-grandchildren; Connor, Parker, Alec, Aaron, Rikki, Gavin, Peyton, Alexis and Jaxon; and sisters, Elsie Cleays of Scottsbluff and Darlene Rhode of Scottsbluff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Franklin; parents George and Molly (Kling)
Rothenberger; brothers, Henry Kuntz, Robert and Larry Rothenberger; sisters, Louise Hilt, Mary Guthrie and Mary Rothenberger; granddaughter Tabitha Davis; grandson Patrick and great-grandson Jonathan
