Obituary for Connie R Nielsen

Connie R Nielsen
CONNIE RAE NIELSEN

Connie Rae (Jaspring) Nielsen 68 of Sidney, NE passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on the morning of July 19, 2017.

Connie is preceded in death by her father, Eldon W.J. Jaspring and survived by her beautiful mother Mary Jane Jaspring, currently of Sidney, Nebraska. Connie was born to them in Nebraska City, Nebraska on September 30, 1948. She was their only daughter. She is also survived by her three brothers; Larry E.F. Jaspring (and family) of Florida; Timothy L. Jaspring (and family) of Oklahoma; James L. Jaspring (and family) of Arizona. In addition, she is survived by her beloved son Michael D. Hughes and her beloved daughter Jennifer K. Robertson, both residing in Colorado. She has two Grandsons, Timothy J.M. Bradford and Joseph T.K. Robertson, also residing in Colorado. She was the proud Great Grandmother of Audrey Marie Grace Bradford.

Connie was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Good Shepard in Denver Colorado.

She retired after 25 years from Corporate Headquarters of Gates Rubber Company in Denver, as a Senior Belt Technician. She relocated in 2002 back to her home state to become a respected business owner and operator of Jimmy's Sports Bar and Restaurant in the community of Sidney. Connie was known for her fabulous cooking and her quick wit. Her Christian upbringing included having clean language which resulted in the funding of amazing banquets to enjoy her culinary cuisine. In that spirit, a remembrance celebration will be held in lieu of a funeral, which she found to be too sad to experience for her friends and family. She requested that we celebrate her life in her favorite way, with food and friends.

Connie was a strong, independent and charming woman who sought out the best in people and always welcomed anyone with open arms. She was SO loving and VERY loved.

Please join the family to share your laughter, love and memories at Sidney Legion Park for an impromptu picnic on Sunday, August 6th at around 11:00am and thereafter. In lieu of flowers, please bring a dish if you so choose as she loved potlucks. Some food and drinks will be provided.

In loving memory Mama, to the moon and around the world, Good night Gracie.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC has been in charge of Connie’s care and funeral arrangements.
