Esther F. Walker, age 61 of Sidney, NE went home to be with our Lord, Thursday, May 11, 2017.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 17th in the Evangelical Free Church in Sidney with Pastor Doug Birky officiating. Cremation has been held. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Esther’s name for A.L.S. Research, 1320 South 119th St., Omaha, NE 68144 or at www.alsintheheartland.org. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel to sign Esther’s register book and drop off condolences for the family.

Esther Faye Walker, the daughter of Henry and Genevieve (Roderick) Schoenholtz, was born on October 28, 1955 in Sidney. She attended Grade School, Middle School and High School in Sidney. Esther wore many hats over the years, Daughter, Mother, Wife, Grandma (Nanny).
Before falling ill, she had Nanny’s Daycare; she touched so many young lives as they also touched hers. She was especially great at her gardening and loved planting Iris’ and tulips. She always participated in Arbor Day.
She is survived by her daughter: Janet Bruce and husband Wes of Gurley, (2) brothers: Charles Schoenholtz and wife Pam of Puyallup, WA and Henry Schoenholtz III of Lodgepole, (5) granddaughters: Christine Carey and husband Ben, Alyssa Bruce, Shauna Russell, Britney Gosselin and husband Andrew all of Sidney and Brienna Bruce of Cheyenne, WY. (6) great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Genson, Kinzley, Carson, Henry and Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Genevieve Schoenholtz and one sister Denise Schoenholtz.
