WANDA J. FISCHER
Wanda J. Fischer, age 73 of Chappell, NE passed away at RWMC in Scottsbluff on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 28th in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chappell, NE with Father Matthew Koperski officiating. Rosary and Wake services are not planned at this time. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney on Monday from 1-7:00 P.M. Wanda Jean Fischer, the daughter of J.C. and Darlene Francis (Hiltbruner) McAdams was born on December 22, 1943 in Mesa, AZ. She attended school in Yuma, AZ where she met her weakness, Elroy Fischer. They were married on October 6, 1962. To this union, she became the loving mother of three children: Desira (Steve Martin of Scottsbluff, NE, Steven (Corinne) Fischer and Christina (Dan) Riley both of Chappell.
Wanda enjoyed many things in her life including all the camping and motorcycling she did in her younger years with her husband. She loved her job as sales manager for Tuf-Wear Corporation until her health caused an early retirement. She loved to watch scary movies, do crossword puzzles and plant flowers in the summer. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandma. She also loved sharing her Swiss Cake Rolls with her little dog, Maddie.
She is survived by her step-mother: Leone McAdams; brother: Jerry (Betty) McAdams; sisters: Shirley McAdams, Brenda McAdams and Connie Markheim; her children; (6) grandchildren: Heather Fischer, Christopher Porter, Jordan Fischer, Hailey Himes, Wyatt Riley and Jamie Subjeck; (3) great-grandchildren: Olivia Fischer, Ashlyn Subjeck and Ayden Subjeck.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband: Elroy in 2016 and her father, mother and step-father: Herman T. Harrison.
