KEN SAGER

Ken Sager, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, age 53 of Sidney, Nebraska passed away at his home Wednesday, November 2, 2016 following a lengthy illness.
Kenneth Andrew Sager, the son of Dennis A. and Jean C. (Lundquist) Sager, was born on October 15, 1963 in Spokane, Washington. He attended schools in Woodsfield, Ohio and Goldendale, Washington, and graduated from Goldendale High School. Ken played college football for the Western Washington University Vikings and as tight end for the Seattle Seahawks during the NFL strike of 1987. He graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington in 1989. Ken was united in marriage to Rebecca A. Owen on August 26, 1989 in Seattle, Washington. Ken was a talented art director and worked in Bellingham, Washington at Grizzly Imports, in Sidney, Nebraska at Cabela’s and in Medford, Oregon with Musician’s Friend.
Ken had a passion for family, sports and the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, play softball, bowl, coach his children’s sports teams, exercise at the Cheyenne County Community Center, woodworking, renovating his homes and was a lifelong and avid Steeler’s fan. Ken was also a member of the Dalton Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Dalton Village Board.
Survivors include his wife, Becky; his children, Katie, Jake and Ellie; his parents, Dennis and Jean Sager; his brothers, Jon, Chris and Jeff and numerous extended family members and friends in Washington, Oregon, and Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 21st at Light Memorial Presbyterian Church with Pastor Leon “Bud” Gillespie officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ken Sager Memorial fund in care of Points West Community Bank, 420 Glover Rd., Sidney, Nebraska 69162. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel to sign Ken’s register book and drop off cards for the family. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Ken’s care and funeral arrangements.
