ALICE MARIA DIDIER

Alice Maria Didier, age 65 of Sidney, NE and former Gering, NE resident, passed away at the Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care on Monday, August 22, 2016.
Rosary Services will be held at 9:30 A.M., with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 26th. Both services will be in the Christ The King Catholic Church in Gering with Father Mike McDonald officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M., Friday in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney with Father Jim Heithoff officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Maria’s name to Christ The King Catholic Church in Gering. Cremation has been held, no formal visitation will take place at the funeral home. Alice Maria Didier, the second of six children of Harry Nicholas and Alice Margaret (Schaf) Didier, was born on December 31, 1950 in Sidney. She graduated from high school in Billings, MT in 1969 and received her Nursing Degree from Lincoln General in 1976. She then obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1995. Maria loved caring for the elderly working in several Nursing Homes in the Panhandle including Chadron and Gering from 1976 until illness forced her retirement in 2015. She also cared for aged grandmother until her death at age ninety-seven and a half and then moved her parents into her home to care for them for the last seventeen years.
Maria loved dancing, riding horses, bowling, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by her parents: Harry and Alice Didier of Sidney; her siblings: Daniel and wife Sharon of Papillion, NE, David and wife Arlene of Chadron, Paul of Sidney and Anne Mullenniex of Leavenworth, WA and numerous extended family members and friends.
Maria was preceded in death by her brother: Joseph.
