ELIZABETH J. LARSON

Elizabeth J. Larson, age 79 of Plains, MT and former Potter, NE resident passed away in her home from Cancer, Saturday, August 13, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 26th in the Prairie West Church in Potter with Rev. Dr. Scott Schiesswohl officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Plains. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Clark Fork Valley Hospice or The Cancer Fund. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC in Sidney and Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Plains are in charge of the funeral arrangements.
She was born in Potter, NE on May 28, 1937 to Nora Emma and Howard James Madden. Elizabeth was raised in a family of twelve children - seven sisters and four brothers. She graduated from Potter High School. She lost her heart to Rolland Joe Larson, her husband of 61 years, the day he took her for a ride in his 1953 Ford convertible. She raised and was very proud of her four daughters.
Elizabeth was a strong and resilient woman who started her married life on a farm north of Potter. In 1991, they moved to Montana where they ran a successful motel until retirement. She loved farm life, wheat fields, spectacular Nebraska sunsets, and the Montana mountains.
She is survived by her husband Rollie, daughters Renita Kainz (Donald), Reba Bechtel, Vicki Larson (Scott Schiesswohl) and Bethany Aleman (Fernando), six grandsons, one granddaughter and four great grandsons as well as her siblings Patricia Buddeke, Nora Wheatly, Dennis Madden and Gloria Woods and many nieces and nephews.
