JOHN SWAYZE
John D. Swayze, age 52 of Kearney, NE and former Sidney resident, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Cremation has been held. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 3rd in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel with The Rev. Tar Drazdowski officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name in care of the family for future designation. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel prior to services to drop off condolences and sign John’s register book.
Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of John’s care and funeral arrangements.
John D. Swayze, the son of Jack and Mary (Woodruff) Swayze was born on July 11, 1963 at McCook, NE. John grew up in Indianola, NE and loved the outdoors.
Survivors include his significant other: Priscilla, son: Michael Swayze and wife Jennifer of Sidney; daughter: Lisa Christensen and husband Jason of Sidney; his mother: Mary Drage and husband Ron of Kearney; his father: Jack Swayze of Johnstown, CO; he is also survived by Rachael Howard, Bridgette Hagedorn, Katie Myers and Eric Hagedorn; (3) sisters: Theresa Wilhelm and husband Lee of McCook, Sheila Kruger and husband Mike of Johnstown, CO and Angie Klepper of Loveland, CO; grandchildren: James, Elizabeth, Riley, Kinleigh, Brittani, Zackeri, Donovan and Brookelyn; nieces: Cala, Heather, Meghan and nephew: Seth.
John was preceded in death by his son: Mark in 2006.
