Condolences

Condolence From: Sharalyn Mercier Del Grosso
Condolence: My sincere condolences at the loss of your mother. I saw the picture of the Fischer kids on Rosemary's face book page. I had to call Mary Harris and ask if she was aware of Rosemary's passing. Rosemary, Mary, Deanna, Jackie, myself and some others all grew up in Black Hawk. Rosemary was in my sisters class, Nancy was in my sister, Charlene's class and Ronnie was in my brother Dennis's class. When Fischers moved to Nebraska we never heard anymore about the family. Rosemary and I reconnected after my husband passed away. I think the memories she has left behind for you kids are some of the best. God Bless her and bless the children.

Condolence: Rosemary Farel, my mother, will be greatly missed. Like some of you I have spent the last few days looking through photos and reminiscing. I was truly blessed to have her as my mom. My album of life is full thanks to her. I’ve seen cities large and small. Deserts, mountains, and prairie have all been seen through the windshield as we sped on by. Bed times were always negotiable if there was adventure to be had. As a single mother she would often pick up a second job to buy the extra things she wanted to give us. All the while never asking for extra praise. I don’t know how she ever kept track of us kids. We were more like a band of pirates than children, innocent we were not. Freely dished out hugs and I love you greetings. But, when the recipe called for a stern talking to or a warm bottom there was no hesitation. She taught me to appreciate the outdoors, music and art. Passion and strength I would say were her greatest qualities. Without fear she would pick up stakes and we would move across the country to see what it’s like over there. Even to the end there was a Road Atlas handy. Sure enough within a few weeks it was like we lived there for years. We survived camping trips in spite of tornados. When I had a paper route as a kid she would get up on the weekend and help deliver them so we could talk. Thankfully she will no longer have to battle with her health and will take her place in heaven. The pain that I and many others share in saying goodbye can be seen as a testament that she was loved deeply by many.
